WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?
Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvederm®, Hydrafil® and Vital® are Trade Names that the manufacturers give to Dermal Fillers. A Dermal Filler is a substance that is injected into the skin layers to fill out, sculpt and contour areas on the face.
WHAT DO THEY DO?
They are an effective treatment in smoothing and reducing lines and wrinkles on the face. Fillers are commonly used to contour thinning top and bottom lips giving them a plumper look. They are also very effective in filling out the deep lines that can appear between the eyebrows, alongside the corners of the mouth, nose to the mouth lines and on the forehead.
HOW DO THEY WORK?
When injected into the skin they naturally integrate into the tissue of the skin. This adds volume and lifts the skin and attracts moisture into the tissues. Dermal Fillers can therefore be used to fill out defects and will enhance and rejuvenate any area that is injected.
ARE THEY PERMANENT?
No - They will wear away and can easily be reversed. There are permanent fillers on the market. However at AESTHETiKA we do not provide them, as once they have been administered they cannot be altered or changed.
