Covid-19 Testing is available at Aesthetika Clinic today
Aesthetika Clinic is a Private Provider of Covid Testing and can be found here on the Governments List of Providers The clinic has been rigorously tested and approved to provide Covid Testing by UKAS and we are working towards our accreditation process. We have partnered up with our local labs who are also approved and they too are working towards their Accreditation for Covid Testing. It is now illegal for anyone to offer you a Covid Test unless they are registered on the Governments List of Private Providers.
The private provision for covid testing is there for those with work and travel commitments. It is unreasonable to expect the NHS to provide you with a test for any future travel requirements. Aesthetika can provide you with a Fit to Fly for International Travel, Test To Release and General Covid Testing. The swab test looks for the presence of the Antigen, that’s the Covid Virus to me and you. Antigen testing can be undertaken using a Lateral Flow Device LFD or a Polymerase Chain Reaction PCR. These are two different methods used to give you a result.
Corona Virus is a novel virus, that means it is new to us all, therefore the ability to test and the methods we use are also new. There are some exciting developments on testing and the vaccine response leads us to believe that we will be able to return to some kind of normal again in the not too distant future, maybe even travel overseas for a holiday, but for now we must follow the rules and there are specific requirements for testing when it comes to work and travel See the current Foreign Travel Advice published by HMG. Please be aware that no test is 100% accurate. Whether it is a Lateral Flow Device (LFD) or a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test there are false negatives and positives reported and any test is only as good as the person taking it and reporting it.
Ensure you choose the right test at the right time for you.
Antigen or Swab Testing
There is a legal requirement to undergo a PCR test for international travel and in certain cases, to be released early from self-isolation, therefore a LFD test alone may not be suitable for you if you are travelling into or out of the UK.
There is a Legal Duty to Self Isolate if you have received a positive test result from a COVID-19 test and/or you are a close contact of someone who has tested positive; and if, in both circumstances, you have been notified of the need to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace.
Antibody or Blood Testing
An antibody test looks for the presence of antibodies (which are produced by people with the virus) against the COVID-19 virus in your blood.
A positive result indicates the person has previously had the virus, but does not indicate immunity to COVID-19 infection, or whether you can spread the virus to other people. Those who test positive, and those who test negative, should continue to follow safer workplace guidelines including social distancing measures.
Get tested as soon as possible if you have symptoms of CoronaVirus
Did you know that as many as 1 in 3 people who are infected with coronavirus never have symptoms, and it is thought that this group may be responsible for spreading the virus to others.
Use the NHS service to order a test if you have at least one of these 3 coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms:
- a high temperature
- a new, continuous cough
- you’ve lost your sense of smell or taste or it’s changed
Book a visit to a test site to have the test today. Test sites are open 7 days a week. Order a home test kit if you cannot get to a test site
You can get an NHS Test to check if you have corona virus.
